The Billing page is where your subscription lives: which plan you are on, how much ad spend it covers, what you’ll be charged next, and every invoice you have paid. Open it from the profile menu in the top-right corner.
Billing is visible to the main account holder only. Invited team members do not see the menu item.

Your current plan at a glance

The card at the top of the page summarizes your subscription: That last row changes to match your situation — it reads Free trial ends during a trial without a card, First charge during a trial with a card on file, and Subscription ends once a cancellation is scheduled.

Covered ad spend and overage

TheOptimizer’s plans are tiered by the monthly ad spend they cover rather than by seats or campaigns. The usage bar on the plan card shows how much of that allowance you have used in the current period. If you go past it, the plan does not stop working — the spend above your allowance is billed at your plan’s overage rate, shown as a percentage next to the bar. Higher tiers cover more spend and carry a lower overage rate, which is why moving up a tier often costs less than staying put and paying overage.
Watch the usage bar around the middle of your billing period. If you’re already past the allowance halfway through, upgrading now is usually cheaper than absorbing a full month of overage.

Your payment method

The card also shows the payment method on file — card brand, last four digits, and expiry. Manage next to it opens the Payment methods dialog. If no payment method is on file yet, an Add payment method card appears next to the plan overview instead.

Change plan

The Choose a plan section lists every plan with what it covers and what it includes, grouped into Automation, Campaigns, Tracking & data, and Team & support. Plan cards are marked so you can orient quickly: your Current plan, the Most popular tier, and a Recommended badge on the next tier up from where you are. Use the Monthly / Annual toggle above the cards to compare cycles. Annual billing is discounted, and the saving is shown on each card.
1

Pick a plan

Click the button on the plan you want. A confirmation dialog opens with the exact numbers. If you’re restarting a lapsed subscription with no card on file, you’ll be asked for a payment method first instead.
2

Review what you'll be charged

The dialog shows Due today, when the plan renews, and what the renewal will cost. For a downgrade it shows the date the new plan takes effect instead.
3

Confirm

Click Confirm upgrade or Confirm downgrade to apply.
The timing differs by direction, and this is the part worth knowing before you click:

Upgrades

Take effect immediately. You’re charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current period and get the higher allowance right away.

Downgrades

Take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep your current plan’s features and allowance until then.
When a downgrade or cycle change is scheduled, a banner at the top of the page names the plan and the date it switches. Cancel change on that banner reverts it and keeps you where you are.

Enterprise plans

If your spend outgrows the listed tiers, the Enterprise card puts you in touch with the team to arrange a custom plan. Once you’re on a custom plan, the Enterprise card disappears and your plan appears as a normal card in the grid, badged Tailored for you.

Promo codes

Click Have a promo code? below the plan cards to reveal the field, enter your code, and click Apply. Once accepted, the discount is shown along with how long it lasts, and it is applied the next time you change plan. Remove clears it.

Payment methods

Manage on the plan overview card opens Payment methods, the list of every card on your account.
Your default payment method cannot be removed while it is the default. Add the replacement, set it as default, then remove the old card.

Invoices and payments

The Invoices & payments section shows what’s coming and what’s already been paid. At the top, the amount and date of your next invoice. Below it, your invoice history — date, amount, plan and cycle, invoice number, and status: Each invoice has a PDF link for your records. Edit in billing portal opens the Stripe billing portal for your billing details.

When something needs your attention

A banner at the top of the Billing page tells you when the subscription needs action:
Once a subscription lapses, your workspace becomes read-only — your data, rules, and history are all still there, but automation stops running. Reactivating restores everything.

Cancel your subscription

Cancel subscription on the plan overview card starts the cancellation flow. It runs in three steps, and you can back out at any point:
  1. Before you go — confirms how long you keep access and, where one applies, offers a smaller plan instead of cancelling outright.
  2. What made you decide to leave? — pick a reason and add a comment of at least 20 characters. This goes straight to the product team.
  3. One last check-in before you go — an optional free 20-minute call to see whether whatever wasn’t working has a quick fix.
Click Cancel subscription anyway to finish. Cancelling does not end your access immediately. You keep full access to your plan until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and the plan overview card switches its date row to Subscription ends. Until that date, Resume subscription reverses the cancellation with a single click.
During a trial the same button reads Cancel trial.

Legacy membership accounts

Subscriptions that predate TheOptimizer’s current billing system are managed in the TheOptimizer Membership portal rather than on this page. Those accounts see a Membership page instead, showing the current plan, the account email, and payment history, with a button to open the portal where plan changes, payment methods, and invoices are handled.
